Light of the Same Star

Light of the Same Star

It’s no surprise that Advent and Christmas will be different this year, given that all of 2020 has pretty much been unprecedented for us all. Yet, the pieces of the story of the coming of Christ will be the same. A star, angels, shepherds and wise men. A donkey, no room in the inn and an angry Herod, Joseph and Mary, and of course, Baby Jesus.

COVID-19 may have messed up everything else, but it will never mess up the greatest event in history - God coming to be with us. This Advent and Christmas we invite you to consider the light from the Star that guided those shepherds and wise men to the Christ child. The light of that same star still guides us today. It is the perfect light, shining in the darkness around us now, and that light will never go out. In this Light, we find hope and life.

John 8:12 - Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
