Livestream Q&A

The Video Focus Appears Fuzzy or Blurry.

It's easy to change the quality of the video you're viewing. Whether you're watching on the Web Player, Facebook, or YouTube, you'll find a gear icon called "Settings" with the video player controls.

The highest quality setting (sharpest video) is 1080p (or High Definition); the lowest quality setting (blurriest) is 144p. To sharpen the video quality, select 1080p or a number higher than what the video is currently set to.

You can set your video quality to "auto" so the quality of the video adjusts based on your internet connection speed.

Note: Facebook has no High Definition option and will always show the blurriest video. For the highest quality video viewing, please watch on the Web Player or YouTube.

If you select a higher video quality but your video begins buffering or skipping, then your internet speed is too slow for the quality of video. To solve this issue, lower the quality of your video by changing the setting.

I'm Getting an Error Message.

If the live screen has an error (which is likely leading up to the event), refresh your web-browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.)

In Chrome – click the circle symbol with the arrow at the upper left of your Chrome screen
For Mac – press ⌘ R
For PC –  press F5

If there is an error on your phone app, close the app and start it again.

This is the most common problem with Livestream. Please always refresh your browser or device, or click "Watch Now" on the media player to refresh the feed.

My Video is Choppy.

If the video is choppy, check your internet speed with speedtest.net or download the app and test your speed.

Minimum download speed should be 1.5 or more

Make sure you don’t have a lot of programs open on your device. Too many apps or programs running on your device will slow the processing speed significantly.

My Question Isn't Answered Here. Who Do I Contact?

What System Requirements & Browser Should I Use?

To watch an event on Livestream, please ensure you have the following:

  • System Requirements: Windows 7 or higher, Mac OS X 10.6 or higher
  • Supported desktop browsers:
    • Google Chrome 45+
    • Mozilla Firefox 49+
    • Safari 10+
    • Microsoft Edge 15+
    • **Internet Explorer 11 - requires Flash plugin to be installed
  • Supported mobile browsers: Chrome 45+, Safari 10+ (iOS)
  • Internet Connection: 5-10mbps download speed is recommended. Check your connection at speedtest.net.

What Is My Required Internet Connection?

We recommend viewing Livestream from a wired connection with a download speed of at least 1Mbps. If the event producer is sending the stream at a higher bitrate, you will need a faster connection.

To test your speed, go to www.speedtest.net. Bandwidth fluctuates constantly (especially on Wi-Fi and mobile internet), so running multiple tests is recommended.

As a general rule, your download bandwidth must be greater than the bitrate of the event broadcast you’re trying to watch.
