We Are Park Avenue Church
The Global Methodist Church's mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. Park Avenue joined the GMC in July 2022. You can read more about our beliefs and doctrines here.

Park Avenue Church began in 1954 as approximately 70 members from First Methodist Church followed a calling to start a new Methodist church in Valdosta, GA. Our first worship service was held on June 6, 1954 in the Garden Center of Valdosta. The church was officially constitutes on Sunday, June 27, 1954.
God has blessed our congregation through the years. We offer two different styles of worship services on Sunday, a thriving Sunday School program, active children's and youth programs, and are active in missions in our community.
The symbol of the cross with arrows and circle overlaid has many elements of faith within it. At its very core, it is a cross, which represents for us as Christians the redemption of sin, our salvation, and eternal life.
The circle overlapping reminds us of the crown of thorns worn by our Jesus. The circle is never ending, just as Christ's love for each of us never ends.
The arrows on the arms of the cross signify that we are reaching out in all directions to share the love of God throughout the world. They also point out into the world where we are called to go in the Great Commission of Jesus recorded in Matthew 28:19 "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.”
The cross intersects in the middle of the field of red, reminding us of the atoning blood of Jesus, and His sacrifice for our sins. The intersection is where we are, our own lives, and reminds us that the cross should be central for each of us.
